Want a fun way to spend your Saturday morning? Why don't you join us and a group of enthusiastic refugee children in the second Refugee Children's Talent Competition.
One of our key areas of concern for refugee children in Malaysia is their lack of access to education (refugee children are unable to attend public schools), and with that, their lack of opportunities to engage in creative and competitive activities.
Therefore, since last year, UNHCR has started a Refugee Children's Talent Competition, to give refugee children a chance to express themselves through song or dance, and to participate in healthy competition.
After months of auditions, 12 finalists have been selected in the categories of dancing and singing.
Come watch them battle it out for the top bragging rights of champions in dance and singing for 2011!
This will take place at 10.40am on Saturday, 19 November, at the HGH Convention Centre, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. (Please see map below)
If you would like to attend, please send a confirmation to infomalaysia@unhcr.org. Admission is free!
