This day is a celebration to commemorate God's provision in American history on the fourth Thursday of November each year.After arriving in Massachusetts in late November, 1620. Protestant Pilgrims attempted to find a landing place.After landing, they quickly began to build shelter after corporate prayer. The pilgrims were not prepared for a harsh winter in New England and almost half of them died before spring. With the help of Indians and through prayer, the Pilgrims reaped an incredible harvest the following summer. The Pilgrims then institutes a three-day feast to thank God for His provision. Although this was not the first Thanksgiving service held in America, it was the first Thanksgiving festival.
